Mahaan listed in Curry Club Guide

Pat Chapman

Pat Chapman, Tandoori Magazine's Editorial Consultant and founder of the Curry Club, presents Abdul Monnan, the restaurant's owner, with a certificate for his entry in this year's Good Curry Guide.

Pampering your Customers

The Mahaan Restuarant in Worthing in West Sussex has told its customers "that it 5 time for  tiffin."

Speaking at the opening of the restaurant's Pink Gin Bar, Abdul Kadir, General Manager, said that making customers' meal experience more comfortable was an important part of any overall restaurant offer.

He said that the £180,000 lounge extension would be perceived as added value by customers to the seaside resort restaurant.

"Customers can sit here and sip our pink gins, cocktails, all kinds of drinks, before and after enjoying a meal. It's just another extra that we're giving them that should set us apart from run-of-the-mill establishments."

Customers would also be able to smoke in the lounge, Mr Kadir said. He revealed that the 20 tables reserved for non-smokers were among the most popular in the restaurant. But he said that having A smoking area gave customers more choice.

Mr Kadir added that restaurants that succeeded in spotting and investing in customer needs would be the ones that would go forward in the next phase of the Indian restaurant boom.

The new lounge was launched at a party that cost the 130-seat restaurant over £3,500.
